Laurent Clasquin, Founder and Managing Director of Blue Dream Croisières

Laurent was born and raised in the Vosges region of eastern France. His love of the sea was inspired by Jacques-Yves Cousteau and the television programme Thalassa, which we used to watch as children.

After joining the Epinal Diving Club, my brother embarked on a long series of dives wearing a 7 mm wetsuit in the icy lakes of the High Vosges.

Family summer holidays were often spent diving with clubs along the French coast, gradually filling the pages of his diving logbook.

After studying marine mechanics in Strasbourg, our parents decided to support his passion and give him the opportunity to move closer to the sea. He relocated to Antibes, where he completed his vocational diploma, qualified as a scuba-diving instructor and obtained his boat captain’s licence.

In the early 2000s, he seized an opportunity to spend his first winter season working in Martinique aboard the excursion catamaran Passion. Captivated by the island, he decided to make Martinique his home.

Around 2010, Laurent also undertook several long-distance sailing voyages, including a number of Atlantic crossings under sail.

Drawing on his experience and expertise, he founded his own company, SAS Blue Dream, in 2016.

It was an opportunity for him to finally bring his own vision of the sea to life and share it with others aboard his own vessel.

On the island of Saint Martin, he rolled up his sleeves and set about restoring PELAGIA, which would become the catamaran dedicated to day excursions along Martinique’s Caribbean coast.

Deeply attached to local history and close to the island’s culture, “Tilo”, although far from his native homeland, now feels completely at home in Martinique.

Always committed to protecting our planet, its wildlife and natural environment, our captain and his crew continually seek to raise awareness and encourage us to reflect on our own behaviour and our responsibility towards preserving the environment.

Sailing with Blue Dream is above all about sharing a unique experience: cruising alongside dolphins, keeping your eyes wide open to the beauty around you, feeling the sea spray on your skin, and enjoying the gentle breeze and fresh ocean air.

A day on board unfolds to the rhythm of stories shared by the crew, a buffet and drinks inspired by local flavours, swimming and snorkelling sessions, offering the opportunity to discover and admire the marine life beneath the surface.

The Pelagia Catamaran

Built near La Rochelle by the Nautitech shipyard, PELAGIA is a 62-foot (approximately 19-metre) cruising catamaran, perfectly suited to sailing in the warm waters of the Caribbean thanks to its spacious shaded outdoor areas.

Its layout is designed to accommodate up to 28 passengers and 2 crew members for coastal day trips.

PELAGIA is a professional commercial vessel operated by a fully qualified crew.

Its sailing performance allows it to cruise comfortably at an average speed of around 10 knots.

PELAGIA offers a particularly welcoming and relaxing atmosphere thanks to its spacious deck layout, sunbathing area and two relaxation nets at the front of the boat.

It also features a large cockpit, well protected from the sun, rain and sea spray, as well as a spacious lounge-style saloon with comfortable seating and a pleasant musical atmosphere.
